A safe, peaceful setting where horses are family and movement is a priority.
About Us
The Stables at Yellow Creek was inspired by our own experiences as boarders and horse owners. We found that healthy pastures, 24/7 access to quality forage, clean water, horse safe fencing, and knowledgable, caring staff were what we valued most but struggled to find in our area. Through experience, we’ve also seen that horses are happiest when they are allowed to live with a herd and move all day while grazing and foraging as nature intended. Designed to be a sanctuary for horses and their owners in close proximity to Dawsonville, Gainesville, Cumming, Dahlonega, Ball Ground, and Jefferson.
Owner/Manager
Sara Hathaway
I like to tell people I’ve been on horses since the womb. They have been a part of my life my entire life. My experience stems from lifelong horse ownership, years as a veterinary technician, and my Animal Science degree from The University of Georgia. In addition, I am also a proud hoof care practitioner/farrier with 4 Hooves Hoof Care, llc.
I have been a boarder at multiple facilities as I brought my horse to and through college and new homes since 2008. I also had the privilege of living on a horse farm for 10 years.
My focus is always on the health and happiness of the horses and doing whatever I can to help them live their best lives. I appreciate open and honest communication with horse owners so we can always work together for the betterment of our horses.
Words I would use to describe my management style are consistency, safety, quality, and intuitive. I do not tolerate drama disturbing the peace of our horses or barn family.
